I wish my dad loved me as much as he loves alcohol.
I get it it’s sad to say but it’s honest.
I grew up wanting the affection from my parents more than anything but they had their own demons.
And for that, it took me a lot of mistakes, pain, misery, (but never regret), just lessons learned to understand that I’m not them.
I’m not a reflection of the people who can’t truly love me because they have their own pain.
And guess what, I’m okay with that.
Because at the end of the day, I am the product of them and I must say, I am amazing!
So next, time you’re waiting or begging for someone to love you the right way, just know that it may never come.
But know in your heart, it’s not because something is wrong with you, it’s because they have some figuring out to do.
